Privacy Policy
How Sparq collects, uses and discloses the personal information that visitors to this site provide, under the federal and provincial privacy laws of Canada.
Last Updated: October 21, 2026
Sparq Systems Inc. (“Sparq”, “we” or “us”) collects and uses personal information to respond to inquiries, provide support and operate sparqsys.com (the “Site”). This policy explains our website practices and how to contact us about your information. Personal information means information about an identifiable individual.
Information we collect and why
When you contact us through a form or by email, we receive the information you provide. Depending on your inquiry, this may include your name, email address, company, location, role, project or system details, and message. We use it to route your inquiry, respond to you, provide technical or warranty support, and maintain the related correspondence. Please include only the information needed for your request.
Our servers and security services may also process your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error or delivery records. We use this information to deliver the Site, prevent spam and abuse, troubleshoot problems and maintain security.
Contact requests and email updates
When you send an inquiry, we use the information you provide to handle that request. The contact form offers a separate, optional checkbox for news and product updates. Leaving it unchecked does not prevent you from sending an inquiry. You can withdraw marketing consent using the unsubscribe instructions in an email or by contacting info@sparqsys.com. We may still contact you about an active request, purchase or service relationship.
Analytics, cookies and your choices
If you allow analytics, our own first-party system measures public page visits, navigation, downloads, interactions and successful inquiries. It uses random browser and visit identifiers, referring website domains, approved campaign identifiers, device and browser categories, and approximate country. Country is looked up locally using DB-IP data; the analytics records do not retain your IP address. We do not collect inquiry contents, form-field values or email addresses in analytics, or send these analytics events to Google Analytics.
A theme-preference cookie remembers your light or dark display choice for up to one year. Your analytics choice is also remembered for up to one year. With permission, a random visitor cookie lasts up to 90 days and a visit cookie expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. You can decline analytics or change your choice using . We respect Global Privacy Control. Declining does not prevent you from using the Site or sending an inquiry. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Service providers and third-party content
We use service providers to host and secure the Site and deliver email, including Amazon Web Services for form-message delivery. Relevant Sparq personnel and service providers process information as needed to handle your request and operate these services. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and automated abuse; Google processes technical information about your device and interaction with the Site under its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Embedded videos and market-data widgets may connect to third-party providers when loaded or played. Those providers and websites reached through external links have their own privacy practices. Service providers may process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of the relevant jurisdiction.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or as necessary to protect the rights and security of Sparq, our customers and the Site.
Retention and protection
We retain inquiry and support records for the purposes described above, including ongoing customer service, warranty administration and applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of record and the reason it is held. Detailed analytics records are kept for 90 days; daily aggregate trends without browser or visit identifiers are kept for 13 months. Analytics reports are restricted to authenticated Sparq Systems staff. Contact us for information about retention or to request deletion of your personal information.
We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive information in a website inquiry.
Our website email log keeps encrypted copies of outgoing message contents for seven days and send metadata, including email addresses, timestamps and send status, for 90 days. Access is restricted to authenticated Sparq Systems staff. These website-log periods are separate from correspondence retained in email mailboxes or customer-service records.
Access, corrections and privacy questions
You may ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion, withdraw consent, or raise a privacy concern by emailing info@sparqsys.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Access, deletion and withdrawal of consent are subject to applicable legal and contractual requirements; we will explain any relevant limits.
